I am so excited! I read a wonderful blog by Andrea. She lives in Canada and has two beautiful daughters and I take a peek into their world several times a week. It was on her blog where I finally "delurked" early this year.
For Valentine's day she set up a Valentine's PIF (pay it forward). I was immediately excited about this. And I had the perfect thing to offer. A Starbucks gift card! I don't drink coffee. My stomach hates me and revolts for an entire day after drinking even a sip. The card was just going to waste. And here was my chance to pay it forward to someone else. So Marla, who also lives in Canada, will soon be receiving a lovely store-bought Valentine and a gift card to Starbucks.
And I will be receiving a scrapbooky card from jibiibear who lives in Australia! How fun to get mail from so far away. Now I will be excitedly waiting for the day, when tucked between the junk and bills, will be a special card waiting for me.
I feel like a little kid in elementary school waiting for my classmates to deposit a card in my handmade valentine box. We all passed out our cards and then at the end of the day we were allowed to open them. It was fun to see what cards you would get and what people would write inside. And here I am, 29-years-old, and I have the same feeling. I am reaching out and contacting people that, quiet literally, live a world away from me.
This is what I love about blogging. It opens the world. It helps to make me feel connected to the people that inhabit this beautiful world!
